Timeline Help

ideas

Here are a few things you may or may not want to add to your timeline - maybe a few you haven't thought of.

GETTING READY

Do you have cute outfits for your bridesmaids? Maybe a cute bridal sweet booked? Have me come an hour before to capture some fun getting ready photos. For the guys - I can simply have them take their jacket on and off, fix their tie, ect. whenever we can fit it in or we can give them their moment as well.

FIRST LOOK

You can do this before your ceremony. This can help if you're a super nervous person. Do it with your spouse, father, wedding party or someone special. These don't take long. Think 10 minutes each.

PHOTOS BEFORE

If you're doing a first look, maybe you'd like to get wedding party photos out of the way as well.

CEREMONY

How in depth are you getting? Vows? Flower girls? Who is carrying the rings? Who is walking the bride down the aisle? Is the groom walking anyone down? Have you practiced your first kiss? Do you want to kiss again in the middle of the aisle? At the end with your guests in the back? Do you plan on doing a dip? Is there going to be confetti thrown or bubbles blown? Where will your wedding party stand? Have you thought about placing them in the aisle?

RECEIVING LINE

This is when the bride and groom line up at the end of the aisle and allow each guest to congratulate them.

FAMILY PORTRAITS

Where are these being done? Do you have a list of who you'd like photos with? Depending on the size of your family these can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Here are the main grouping I suggest:

Bride's Side: Bride + Parents, Bride + Mom, Bride + Dad, Bride + Siblings, Bride + Grandparents, Entire immediate family

Groom's Side:  Groom + Parents, Groom + Mom, Groom + Dad, Groom + Siblings, Groom + Grandparents, Entire immediate family

Both Sides Together

Couple with both sets of parents

Couple with full immediate families

COCKTAIL HOUR

How important is this to you? Do you want to snap a few quick photos, so you can enjoy some of your cocktail hour? Do you want to get more in depth with photos and arrive before dinner?

RECEPTION DETAILS

Do you want detailed photos of your reception? Do you want me to stop before the getting ready photos? Or head there during cocktail hour?

GRAND ENTRANCE

Are you announcing everyone from the wedding when coming in? Are you walking in? Dancing in? Having a contest? Special songs? Handing something out? Kissing in the middle?

SPEECHES

Who is giving speeches? Will this be done while everyone eats?

CAKE CUTTING

Do you plan on cutting a cake or taking your first bite together?

FIRST DANCES

Who is all dancing with who?

TOSSING

Are you doing a garter retrieval and toss? Bouquet Toss? Anything special for anyone else? A birthday?

GROUP PHOTOS

Do you want me to go around to each table and take a photo of your guests, so you can remember who was all there? Would you rather set up chairs for you two and have guests come to you for a quick round of photos? Have everyone gather on the dance floor for a group photo?

THE DANCE FLOOR

Do you want photos of guests on the dance floor? Do you have any fun props?

CHANGE OF CLOTHES

Are you changing out of your wedding dress? Doing another gran reveal?

SUNSET

Do you want to be pulled away for a few minutes to capture some photos at sunset?

EXIT

Are you doing sparklers? Bubbles? A car? Anything special when you leave the venue?

EXTRA TIME

Give yourself extra time for everything. Have contingency plans - rain, staying hydrated, bathroom, etc.
